BMW’s engine manufacturing plant in Steyr, Austria, has boosted its green credentials by completing a new waste water free production process that saves 30 million litres of water a year.

The BMW 3 Series Coupé and Convertible ranges both have a new flagship model. The M Sport specification level is now the most dynamic and sporting incarnation currently available for the recently launched Coupé and Convertible ranges.

The new BMW 1 Series goes on sale in spring 2007 and features a model line up that includes the most fuel efficient production vehicle BMW has ever produced. The introduction of a three-door model and a revised five-door come as a raft of new fuel-saving innovations are rolled out across the range.

Following back-to-back FIA World Touring Car Championship Driver and Manufacturer titles in 2005 and 2006, BMW is pleased that the 320si WTCC saloon, which propelled Britain’s Andy Priaulx to double world champion status, is now set to challenge for honours in the 2007 British Touring Car Championship under the banner of Team RAC run by West Surrey Racing (WSR).

The new BMW 5 Series range features a host of innovative technologies that make the world’s best Executive car even better. Engine innovations such as High Precision Direct Injection and twin-turbocharging improve performance and economy alongside class-leading comfort technologies such as Lane Departure Warning System and Head-up Display.

Powered by the back-to-back International Engine of the Year-winning engine driving through BMW’s unique seven-speed Sequential Manual Gearbox, the new M5 Touring offers up to 1,650 litres of boot space for owners needing to move sizeable loads…… quickly.

Detroit in January will not see too many drop-top drive-thru’s, but at next week's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), BMW Group will be offering a glimpse of sunnier days ahead with the global unveiling of the new MINI Convertible Sidewalk and the all-new BMW 3 Series Convertible. Both cars go on sale in the UK in spring and both are set to hit the number one sales slots in their respective segments.
