BMW’s most affordable Coupe model is set to appeal to an even broader set of customers with the introduction of two new engines in September.
BMW’s flagship 3 Series diesel-powered Convertible is available with a new engine. Featuring third generation common-rail injection technology with piezo injectors, the new BMW 330d Convertible now has a 2,993cc engine that produces 245hp, up from 231hp. Torque has also improved from 500Nm to 520Nm at 1,750rpm.
Three- and five-door versions of the BMW 116i, 116d and 118d are now available with a new Sport trim level. Customers choosing this car over an ES model gain 17-inch alloy wheels, front foglights, heated exterior mirrors and windscreen washer jets, a Sport multi-function leather steering wheel and Sport seats.
A new 24 hour record has been set in a BMW 118d. The team of drivers from BMW Car magazine took the current World Green Car of the Year on a pan-European endurance test to see what real-world performance figures could be achieved in the award-winning vehicle.
At a press conference at the New York International Auto Show today, the BMW 118d with Efficient Dynamics was declared the 2008 World Green Car.
BMW UK has announced additions to the 3 Series Convertible and 1 Series Coupe ranges. The new BMW 320d Convertible and 125i Coupe will receive their world debuts at the Geneva Motor show in March alongside an EfficientDynamics concept car and a raft of other new models.
