airBaltic to open new routes to Scandinavia

The Latvian airline airBaltic will offer several new routes to regional centres in Scandinavia during the summer season of 2008 – Billund in Denmark, Ålesund in Norway and Kuopio in Finland. The first flight from Riga to Kuopio will be on April 17, the first to Ålesund – on April 20, and the first to Billund – on May 1.

airBaltic launches direct flights to Venice and Nice

The Latvian airline airBaltic is launching new flights from Riga to Venice, Italy and Nice, France, during the summer season of 2008. The first flight to Nice will be offered on April 17, and the first from Riga to Venice will depart on April 18.

airBaltic to launch direct flights to Ventspils

The Latvian airline airBaltic will launch regularly scheduled flights to Ventspils on April 11 of this year. Initially airBaltic will fly to Ventspils twice a day on weekdays.

airBaltic completes introduction of e-Ticket

The Latvian airline airBaltic will launch nonstop flights from Riga to the Moldovan capital city of Chisinau on April 1 of this year.

On April 30 of this year, the Latvian airline airBaltic will begin to offer direct flights from Riga to the Swedish city of Norrköping. During the summer season, this will be the 47th route offered by airBaltic from Riga. Altogether, the airline plans 10 new destinations from Riga during the summer of 2008.

airBaltic opens regional office in Liepaja

Representatives of the Latvian airline airBaltic, led by the airline’s president and CEO, Bertolt Flick, opened a regional office at the “Romas darzs” business centre in Liepaja. This makes the airline’s services more easily available to people in the Latvian region of Kurzeme and in the north-western regions of Lithuania.

Lowest-price airBaltic tickets made available for resale

The tickets of the Latvian national airline airBaltic at the lowest price classes (the so-called E-dessert tickets) are now available at reseller ticket offices, including travel agencies and travel portals. Until now, they had only been available on the company’s webpage at Airbaltic.com.

airBaltic reports increases passenger numbers for January

The Latvian airline airBaltic carried 151,395 passengers in January 2008, or 34% more than in the same month in 2007, when airBaltic flew 112,866 passengers. As for flights originating from Riga, the number of passengers in January saw a 37% increase, whereas the market share for Riga grew to 45.8% (or 4.8% growth on a year earlier).

airBaltic to open second sales office in Riga

airBaltic is pleased to announce that airline will open its second sales and consultation office in Riga at the Reval Hotel Latvija on February 4.

airBaltic announces most popular destinations

The Latvian airline airBaltic has analysed operating results from its summer season (March 25 to October 27) and found that the most popular destinations from Riga were Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Berlin and London.

The Latvian airline airBaltic has increased the variety of services sold online and this week reduced fares available through its webpage - airbaltic.com - by LVL 1.00 (EUR 1.30), as demand for web-based purchases has grown over the past year from 30 % to almost 50% of all sales.

airBaltic to separate luggage charge from fare

Beginning on December 5, 2007, the Latvian airline airBaltic will introduce a separate charge for luggage of LVL 3 (EUR 4.5, LTL 15) in an attempt to make airfares more transparent for passengers.
