Holiday happenings in Grenada

Travellers looking to add a healthy dash of spice to their holiday season will enjoy the array of special activities planned at LaSource in Grenada this December. While many of the resort’s daily programmes will continue to operate as normal, the staff has added more elaborate buffets, libations and entertainment.

Highlights include:

Sunday, 21/12 – International Night with Pan Music by the Suzuki Pan Wizard Steel Band during dinner and Gylfi, an international singer, along with guitarists will entertain in the Terrace Lounge.

Monday, 22/12 – Black & White Theme Night, with Phil Beaman in the Piano Bar, a solo saxophonist during dinner service in the Great House and DJ Danny hosting a disco party in the Terrace Lounge.

Tuesday, 23/12 – Grenada Nights, featuring special Christmas menus and The Commancheros Steel Band playing Caribbean rhythms following dinner.

Wednesday, 24/12 – Following Afternoon Tea and a Manager’s Cocktail Party, guests are invited to join the general manager and senior managers for an International Gala Buffet Dinner in the Great House Restaurant. Guests will be entertained by a staff show, followed by Dr. King the Fire Eater and Limbo Master and dancing to the “First Degree” band.

Thursday, 25/12 – Caribbean Eggnog Beach Party Christmas morning as everyone eagerly awaits the arrival of Santa in true Caribbean style. A traditional Christmas Carvery & Beach BBQ will follow. A traditional five-course Christmas dinner will be served Christmas Night. Afterward, guests can enjoy dancing to the Grenadian band “Back in Times.”

Friday, 26/12 – Boxing Day in the Caribbean brings a full day of activities, as well as an array of entertainment including concert guitarist Cecil Bartholomew and a floor show by the Tivoli Dancers and Drummers. DJ Danny will perform for late night dancing and Ava will offer mellow sounds in the Piano Bar.

Saturday, 27/12 – Caribbean Night will include a Repeaters Cocktail Party and the Commancheros Steel band will perform during dinner, while DJ Danny and the Latin Dancers promise another night full of music and dance.

Wednesday, 31/12 – Old Year’s Eve Party starts with a General Manager’s Cocktail Party and entertainment provided by the Suzuki Pan Wizard, followed by a Gala Buffet set on the pool deck, accompanied by the Royal Grenadian Police band, a fireworks display and DJ Danny playing until 2 a.m.

Monday, 01/01 – A relaxing day is planned, as the Oasis Spa and dive centre are closed. Movies, volleyball and aqua aerobics will be offered during the day and a Rum Punch Bar will be set up in the afternoon. A solo saxophonist will perform during dinner in the Great House and “Back in Times” will entertain in the Terrace Lounge.
