Gail and Paul find their perfect home at Burton Woods

Gail and Paul Anderson found their perfect home at David Wilson North East’s Burton Woods development at Whitworth Park, Spennymoor – and the perfect way to buy it.
The couple used the housebuilder’s part exchange service to enjoy a hassle-free move. And just six weeks after reserving their new home, they were settled in with their 17-month-old son Hunter.
“We had been looking to buy for a while but we were having difficulties selling Paul’s house in Spennymoor,” said Gail.
“I was a little bit apprehensive about the part exchange process but David Wilson made it so simple.
“Because we’re self-employed, we thought there might be a few stumbling blocks but the recommended mortgage adviser came to see us and everything went through smoothly.”
The couple run a business, SupplyMatch Teachers, which provides schools with cover in the absence of regular staff.
They fell in love with a 3-bedroom “Hadley” detached home. It has a free-flowing interior layout, which maximises space and natural light, and has a stylish open-plan kitchen / dining / family room at its heart.
Gail said: “We looked around the showhome and put a deposit down there and then. We’re not ones to dilly dally!
“We hadn’t seen anything like it. It was exactly what we wanted. It’s very spacious inside, the rooms are so much bigger than you would expect. We love it.
“All the homes at the development are well spaced out and have such a lovely finish, it looks like a place where you would want to live. People are friendly and it felt like home the moment we moved in.
“We wanted Hunter to grow up somewhere nice and this is perfect. We’re living next to the woods and countryside and we go for lovely walks every day.”
She added: “The sales advisers Helen and Karen were really great and the site manager Phil has sorted out any tiny niggles straight away. Nothing’s been too much trouble for them.”
Part exchange is available on selected properties at Burton Woods, where David Wilson North East is building a wide range of homes offering two to five bedrooms in nine different styles. Prices range from £124,000 to £445,000.
The development is in a superb setting at Whitworth Park, with panoramic views and country walks, yet with plenty of amenities close by and easy access to the A167 and the A1.
