Homebuyers in Widnes can look forward to a new choice of traditionally styled homes when Redrow launches its New Heritage Collection in the town.

The award-winning housebuilder is bringing its arts and crafts inspired homes to Widnes for the first time and is anticipating strong interest from families.

The development, named Barrow’s Green, will feature a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, and is due to go on sale in early April from a marketing suite at the location, off Barrow’s Green Lane. Show homes will follow in the summer to showcase the high specification interiors.

Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “Barrow’s Green will offer a fantastic mix of family homes. It’s our first New Heritage Collection in Widnes and we have already received a number of enquiries about when the homes are going on sale. We’re excited to be able to now let customers know that they will be on sale from next month, when we will be welcoming home buyers to the development to view the plans and see what will be on offer.”

Already popular at locations across the North West, The New Heritage Collection is a premium housing product with more than a hint of nostalgia in its exterior design, but boasting an interior specification to meet the needs of modern lifestyles.

Redrow is also one of the first developers to offer the Government backed NewBuy initiative across its developments in England, and it will be available at Barrow’s Green.

Designed to kick-start the housing market by underwriting mortgages up to 95% of the property’s value at competitive interest rates, NewBuy will be available to customers spending up to £500,000 on a newly built home, whether they’re a first time buyer or already own a house.

Anita added: “NewBuy will help people who want to take their first step onto the property ladder as well as those who already own a home but are looking to ‘trade up’.”

Lenders participating in the scheme will provide a 90-95% mortgage for buyers who meet their qualifying criteria; the lenders will be protected by a mortgage indemnity guarantee (MIG) jointly funded by Redrow and the Government.

Situated on the former Barrow’s Green Farm, on the north east edge of Widnes, Barrow’s Green is ideally located for commuters as it just a few minutes’ drive from the M62 for quick and easy access to Liverpool and Manchester. The nearby town of Warrington is also easily reached.

Widnes itself offers a wide variety of leisure and shopping facilities as well as local parks offering families plenty of open space. Widnes Shopping Park is nearby and host to many well known retails outlets. A new multi-screen cinema complex has recently opened in the town and a new 24-hour Tesco Extra superstore is due to open on March 26.
