Since launching, Phoenix Place, Peveril Homes’ development in Sutton-in-Ashfield, has caught the attention of many house-hunters in the area, owing largely to its combination of quality homes and affordable prices. This has led to an influx of visitors to the site, located on Unwin Road, which offers a selection of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes.

Prices currently start from just £114,950 and, with the government-aided shared-equity scheme, FirstBuy, also available on selected homes, purchasing a property in Sutton-in-Ashfield is that much easier.

With FirstBuy, purchasers are required to raise just 80 per cent of the home’s price, made up from a deposit and mortgage. The remaining 20 per cent is provided jointly by the government and Peveril Homes as an equity loan, which is interest free for the first five years. To qualify, you have to be a first-time buyer and, as a household, earn less than £60,000 a year – it’s as simple as that.

Angela Thomas, sales and marketing manager at Peveril Homes, comments: “We have received a warm welcome from the house-hunters of Sutton-in-Ashfield. That’s partly because we have created homes in this area before, so have clearly gained a reputation for building quality properties, which is why visitors keep coming back.

“However, we also recognise that, for some, it is currently a difficult time to purchase, which is why we are dedicated to helping to make the move easier. Offering FirstBuy is just one of the ways in which we are able to make buying a home an affordable option.”

Purchasers wanting to see exactly what their money could get them should visit the development, where they can peruse some of the properties and get a real taste of what living in a Peveril home is like.

The Bronte, a two-bedroom property, ideal for first-time buyers and couples, plus the Ashby, a three-bedroom home, suitable for families and downsizers, are the first two releases at the development.

Phoenix Place is conveniently located close to the centre of Sutton-in-Ashfield, a delightful market town, boasting everything which you need for day-to-day living, including a host of local independent shops, big high-street names, welcoming pubs, an eclectic range of restaurants and even a thrice-weekly open-air market.

For families, there is a good selection of primary and secondary schools in the area. For the more active, the recently launched Lammas Leisure Centre provides plenty of opportunities to keep fit. Coxmoor Golf Club is also close by – the perfect excuse for a round.

It’s an ideal spot for commuters too: access to the nearby A38 puts the M1 within easy reach. Sutton Parkway railway station also offers direct trains to Nottingham.

To find out more about the properties available at Phoenix Place, visit the development Thursday–Monday, 11am–5pm. Alternatively, visit peverilhomes.co.uk.
