First time buyers in North Wales envious of the 95% mortgages being offered to English consumers via the Government’s NewBuy initiative have been thrown a lifeline by Redrow Homes.

The award winning developer has introduced its own scheme designed to help would-be homeowner who can only raise a 5% deposit to get onto the property ladder.

Redrow’s gifted deposit offer on selected new homes in Wrexham and Flintshire means they will match pound for pound those buyers who’ve already saved 5% of the purchase price towards a deposit on their first home. This means the customer should only need to obtain a 90% mortgage to purchase.

Whereas the Government’s NewBuy scheme, designed to help purchasers borrow up to 95% of the value of their home is only available in England, Redrow’s scheme is available on homes in North Wales.

Anita Williams, sales director at Redrow Homes (NW) said: “Purchasers on the Welsh side of the border needn’t miss out as they could still potentially buy one of our brand new homes even if they only have a 5% deposit. With our gifted deposit contribution, their dreams of home ownership could become a reality now – and our mortgage specialists will see if they qualify for a 90% mortgage.

“It’s a great incentive for first time buyers and this help comes when it’s potentially a very good time to buy – properties are still competitively priced and mortgage availability is improving.”

The deposit offer is available on selected homes at Redrow’s Ty Newydd and Pentre Bach developments in Wrexham and Heathlands and Northop Park in Flintshire.

The offer is currently available to first time buyers on two, three and four-bedroom homes from Redrow’s new Heritage Collection, priced from £136,995.

Homes from the New Heritage Collection have been influenced by the architecture of the Arts & Crafts era so look appealing from the outside, while inside they boast bright, modern interiors with convivial open plan spaces and high quality fixtures and fittings.

Kitchens are both practical and stylish and are well-equipped with integrated top brand name appliances including oven, microwave and fridge freezer, plus tall cabinets and extra wide drawers that offer plenty of storage.

Northop Park, in Connah’s Quay Road, Northop, is halfway between the towns of Mold and Flint, with easy access to the city of Chester. The neighbourhood offers rural village living at its very best with two pubs, a post office, cricket club and championship golf course close by.

Close to Buckley town centre, Heathlands in Church Road enjoys a semi-rural location with the beautiful North Wales countryside just minutes away. The cities of Chester and Liverpool are within easy reach via the nearby A55.

Both Ty Newydd, off Mold Road, and Pentre Bach, off Ruthin Road offer easy access to Wrexham town centre, Chester and the surrounding North Wales countryside.
