Swim, bike and run at Hyatt Regency Curacao Golf Resort

The Hyatt Regency Curacao Golf Resort, Spa and Marina is gearing up to host the Second Annual 2012 ENNIA Curacao International Triathlon on May 27, 2012 and is inviting participants and supporters alike to stay with special rates. The swim (1.5 km), bike (40 km) and run (10 km) will all take place on Santa Barbara Plantation and will not leave the main gate of the resort.

“We are thrilled to once again be a part of this important international event,” said Flor van der Vaart, general manager of the resort. “We are fortunate that the diverse terrain surrounding the resort is so conducive to this type of race. Our guests enjoy swimming at our beach, biking throughout the property and jogging our trails, so we are proud to be able to offer this as a stage on which world-class athletes can compete.”

Registered participants for the triathlon include athletes from the United States, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and the Netherlands, including top Dutch athlete Yvonne van Vlerken. During the event, Hyatt Regency Curacao will raffle a weekend stay at the resort, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Siloam Village, a non-profit organization on the island providing medical care for terminally ill children in a warm and caring environment.

For athletes not wanting the hassle of transporting their bike from another location or those coming to cheer on the racers, ENNIA Triathlon rates at Hyatt Regency Curacao start at $149 per night, based on double occupancy in a Resort View King Room, exclusive of breakfast, tax and service charge.
