London Jewellery week is a celebration of jewellery, from traditional diamond engagement rings to the most cutting-edge contemporary fashion jewels.

Somerset House, one of London's most historic venues, will be the hub for London Jewellery Week and will provide an opulent setting for buyers and the press to view the launch of autumn/winter 2012 jewellery collections and to provide a first glimpse of ranges for spring/summer 2013.

In a perfectly balanced mix of trade and press previews and two consumer selling shows, along with a host of other activities, London Jewellery Week 2012 is celebrating a year when the eyes of the world will be on London for the Jubilee and Olympic celebrations.

Trade And Press Previews

London Jewellery week will kick off with a number of trade events, including Pandora's annual retailer conference, hosting 300 retail jewellers across the country to launch their winter 2012 collections on Monday 11 June. This will be followed on Tuesday 12 June by The Jewellery Show London, an exciting new two day trade show that will showcase an exclusive selection of the best international brands and British jewellery designers within an inspirational environment.

During Jewellery Show London, there will be four catwalk shows a day, sponsored by Pandora, featuring models wearing beautiful jewellery from a range of designer brands. The show will also host a Learning and Development programme of seminars and panel debates by jewellery experts.

Designer Selling Shows

Following on from The Jewellery Show London, will be the contemporary jewellery design show Treasure, which will run from June14-17. Curated by Elizabeth Galton, this show will display visionary design, cutting-edge technology and new talent from the very best in contemporary jewellery

design. This will include Essence, an ethical & sustainable jewellery pavilion, a new Bridal Trail and an afternoon tea Fathers Day special on Sunday 17th June. There will also be a series of inspirational audiences and talks from some of the brightest stars in the jewellery world.

Visitors will be able to discover, buy and commission direct from designers, or relax and enjoy being pampered in the Treasure Beauty Room and have their photograph taken in the Treasure Photo Booth, presented by Jewellery Week 2012 charity, Ovarian Cancer Action.

London Jewellery Week activities at Somerset House will take place alongside a retrospective exhibition of work by Wendy Ramshaw, known for her art jewellery with a sculptural twist. The exhibition centrepiece is Wendy Ramshaw's Room of Dreams, a selection of jewellery and other objects inspired by stories and the imagination.

London Jewellery Week Events

Elsewhere in the capital, jewellery events are being planned at Greenwich, Old Spitalfields, Holborn and Brick Lane.

For the first time this year, London Jewellery Week is being promoted as across the UK, with jewellery shops around the country entering a national shop window display competition and able to join in with their own in-store London Jewellery Week promotions.

London Jewellery Week director Della Tinsley says: "The idea of re-branding the London Jewellery Week logo to Jewellery Week is part of a long term strategy to grow the week into a national celebration of jewellery."
