Local housebuilder Morris Homes is advising househunters looking for affordable, high-quality properties to head to its popular Burton-Upon-Trent development where a helpful tax break is available.

Homes at Morris’ Paget Green site on Horninglow Road that cost under £150,000 are exempt from stamp duty fees thanks to a local Government initiative that helps buyers take their first step onto the property ladder.

Morris has a range of two and three-bedroom properties at its sought-after development that fall within these criteria.

Cindy Vials, regional sales director at Morris, said: “This tax break is a great aid for first-time buyers looking to own a stunning new build home at Paget Green, a popular development because of its excellent commuter links into the nearby centres of Leicester, Birmingham, Nottingham and Derby.”

Further help for first-time buyers is available at Paget Green with the FirstBuy scheme. Another Government-led initiative, it allows the new homeowner to purchase a property at the site for 80 per cent of its market value, meaning a much smaller deposit is required and mortgage payments are lowered.

Cindy added: “The combination of a stamp duty break and the cost-effective FirstBuy scheme makes Paget Green an attractive prospect for first-time buyers who can now look forward to owning their first home.

“The development is just minutes from Burton-upon-Trent’s high street and a vast range of shops and local amenities, and is proving popular with young families and professionals.”

A selection of two and three-bed properties are available at Paget Green starting at £99,950 under the FirstBuy scheme.
