First resident of Peveril Homes’ Peak Court prepares to move in

A thriving new community has just started in Belper, as the first resident of Peak Court – Peveril Homes’ new development – prepares to move in to her new home. Natasha Jones, aged 24, has purchased a one-bedroom apartment, using FirstBuy, the government shared-equity scheme, and will be moving in when the development is completed later this month.

Natasha was looking to move out of her parents’ home, after completing her final year of university in France. She wanted to find her own place and get on the property ladder, while also staying close to family and friends in Belper. After viewing many second-hand properties, she enquired about Peak Court.

Natasha said: “I fell in love with the area – and this was the first home I’d seen to tick all of the boxes. I had no problem deciding that this was the property for me – it was exactly what I’d been looking for – so much so that I bought the apartment off plan.

“I discussed the FirstBuy scheme with the sales adviser and realised that I had to raise only 80 per cent of the purchase price up front, meaning that I could afford to buy on my own. Without FirstBuy, the property would have been out of my price range. The feeling of independence and knowing that I have my own home is terrific.

“It has been brilliant being able to go back to visit the apartment as it has been progressed, and now it’s finally time to start packing. It’s the perfect size for me, and the open-plan aspect will be ideal for entertaining friends.

“Also, the surrounding area is great – the development is only a short walk from the high street and I have the Peak District on my doorstep, so the best of both worlds.”

Natasha bought plot 61, which features an open-plan kitchen and living area, a well-proportioned bedroom and a bathroom.

Natasha concludes: “Buying with Peveril Homes has been so easy for me: the sales staff were on hand for any queries which I had throughout the buying process – they made the whole thing stress-free. Now, I just can’t wait to get settled in my new home.”

These apartments offer a great chance for both first-time buyers and downsizers to enjoy the benefits of countryside living, while being a commutable distance from major towns and cities. Indeed, to travel further afield, the nearby A6 and A38 offer convenient links to the UK’s road network, while Derby boasts a mainline train station, with direct routes to London St Pancras International.

These apartments are available from £94,950. To find out more, visit peverilhomes.co.uk.
