Cycle Bangkok to Saigon

Adventure Worldwide has a brand new, small-group trip, entitled Cycle Bangkok to Saigon providing the chance to discover Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam on two wheels in two weeks.

The incredible journey commences in the Thai capital, Bangkok and goes all the way to Saigon via Cambodia and the iconic Angkor Wat Temple.

Bike hire is included in the price of the holiday and the route is vehicle supported throughout, meaning that there is no need to worry about bike repairs or carrying luggage which is transported from hotel to hotel for you.

This is no ‘Tour de Southeast Asia’; daily cycling distances are taken at a slow pace along mostly flat back-roads, byways and dirt trails, allowing time to soak up the culture and places of interest along the route. Anyone with a reasonable level of fitness will be comfortable on the ride and any busy parts of the route are taken care of aboard an over-land style support truck. There is simply no better way to discover this part of the world.

One of the big highlights of the trip is cycling around Angkor Wat and then riding along the banks of the Mekong River Delta into Vietnam, discovering tiny villages along the way and enjoying a homestay with a local family.

Other highlights of the itinerary include a visit of Pang Sida National Park in Thailand, Banteay Srei - a 10th century Cambodian temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva – and sightseeing tours of Phnom Penh and Saigon, and Cai Be floating market.

The first departure is on 26 August 2012 and costs from £1095 pp (2 sharing) which includes bike hire, all land transportation, luggage transfers, 14-nights’ accommodation, some meals and the services of a tour leader. Flights not included but bookable on request.
