Acer Aspire S5 Ultrabook - ultra-slim, ultra powerful, ultra-responsive
The Acer Aspire S5 Ultrabook is not only extremely thin and light, but it’s also powerful enough to handle all of your daily tasks and tough enough to withstand the rigors of a life on the go.
With its Onyx Black brushed metal finish, curved chassis and magnesium-aluminium (MgAl) alloy casing, the Aspire S5 is only 11 millimetres thin and weighs just 1.2 kg. It brings together all that really matters to users, without the extra baggage.
The new Acer Aspire S5 looks sleek from any angle. You will notice the lack of visible external ports, that’s because the Aspire S5 has the MagicFlip port launcher. Hidden on the back of the Aspire S5, the motorised Magicflip compartment not only hides an HDMI port, USB 3.0 connections and an ultra-fast 20Gbps ThunderboltTM port, but also helps us to keep the Aspire S5 so thin. The MagicFlip opens and closes at the touch of a button, to allow access to the ports when you need them, but keeps them hidden, safe and secure, when you don’t.
The Magicflip also helps the Aspire S5 to deliver a really comfortable, ergonomic typing experience: when the door opens, it increases the keyboard angle for an improved typing posture, while the highly responsive chiclet keyboard allows fast and comfortable typing.
The Acer Aspire S5 was designed from the outset to be one of the world’s thinnest Ultrabook. It features new display technology that seamlessly integrates the 13.3" frame, cutting the bezel thickness by a third, while the built-in lithium polymer battery is shaped to fit perfectly into the ultra-thin chassis keeping the profile to a minimum, but still offering up to six and a half hours of portable power and up to 80 days in standby.
For the Aspire S5, Acer continued the no compromise approach on the inside. With powerful third generation Intel Core processors, up to 256GB SSD for super-fast accessibility, Dolby Home Theater v4 audio enhancement for an immersive sound surround experience and an HDMI port so you can take your content to the big screen. Transferring data to and from the Aspire S5 has never been faster, whether it is through one of the two USB 3.0 ports or the ultra-fast Thunderbolt port that lets you download an HD movie in under 30 seconds.
