28th June 2012 Print

Cigna, a global leader in providing international health insurance to expatriates and other globally mobile individuals, has enhanced its Cigna Global Health Options individual healthcare plan, providing more enhanced benefits and greater flexibility to both customers and partners.

To give customers more comprehensive and extended support, the plan now covers treatment for all cancers, including cancer that has spread from its original site, continuously through to end-of-life care. The plan will also pay for supportive treatment for chronic kidney failure or kidney failure which cannot be cured. Treatment for kidney dialysis will be covered on a daypatient basis if the treatment is available in the beneficiary's country of habitual residence.

Also announced is the availability of uninterrupted cover with automatic renewal. This means when customers are happy to renew with Cigna, they can choose to continue with their existing policy.* Importantly, this means customers get peace of mind knowing that their healthcare benefits remain unchanged with no unexpected break in cover. To provide more flexibility and choice, additional deductible options have been introduced for International Medical Insurance Plus plan (outpatient cover). Customers can now choose between a $0 deductible, a $150 deductible or a new $1000 deductible option (US dollars or £0/£100/£600 or €0/€110/€700 respectively).

“As innovators in the healthcare market, we are committed to improving not only our products, but improving and expanding our portfolio and service proposition to ensure we are meeting our customers’ healthcare needs,” says Phil Austin, Head of Cigna Global Health Options.
