Redrow has begun work on new homes at Crown Park, part of the former Saighton Camp site, in Chester.

The award-winning housebuilder is one of a consortium of developers transforming approximately half of the site, once a Ministry of Defence military training facility, into a stylish new residential development on the edge of the village of Huntington.

Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “Already popular in North Wales and other parts of Cheshire, it’s the first time the ‘Arts and Crafts’ inspired homes from our New Heritage Collection will be available in Chester and we’re already receiving strong interest from local families.”

Due to go on sale shortly, homebuyers are urged to register their interest now, so that they can fully appreciate the opportunity to place an “Early Bird” reservation on their preferred spot. By registering, potential buyers will also be first on the invite list to attend a VIP launch event this summer at Redrow’s development and they will be invited to view the new designs on offer.

With a strong reputation for creating excellent quality homes in the North West and North Wales, Redrow will be building around 120 new homes on part of the former site of Saighton Camp, off Sandy Lane.

Crown Park will eventually feature of a mix of properties to suit everyone; from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom detached family homes. The first release of homes will include a fantastic choice of three and four-bedroom designs all from Redrow’s New Heritage Collection – a premium housing product with more than a hint of nostalgia in its exterior design, and yet boasting a high calibre interior specification to meet the needs of modern lifestyles.

The quiet Sandy Lane location affords this stunning new development a sense of tranquillity and residents will be within easy reach of the River Dee and Chester’s historic city centre. There are scenic walks around the local nature park and canals nearby, along with many local parks for children to play. Crown Park really enjoys the benefits of both worlds - a rural village setting with a host of amenities available, plus all the stylish shops, restaurants and bars of Chester within walking distance.

There are some local pubs offering good food in the village and in the neighbouring villages of Aldford and Farndon.

For families there is an excellent choice of local schools. Crown Park is within the catchment area for the sought after Huntington Primary School, with Bishops Blue Coat and Christleton High Schools close by for older children. Private schools in the area include Abbey Gate College, Kings and Queens School.

Redrow will be showcasing three fine examples from the collection as show homes in the near future and this will allow visitors to truly appreciate the high level specification on offer,
