Traditional homes built for modern life now showcased in Altrincham

An impressive new show home is now open in Altrincham to showcase Redrow’s exclusive collection of traditional homes, which combine the best of old and new.
The Oaks is one of Redrow’s newest development at Stamford Brook, off Manchester Road, and features homes from the housebuilder’s award-winning New Heritage Collection, influenced by the ‘Arts and Crafts’ era, but boasting a specification to meet the needs of modern lifestyles. There are currently two, three and four-bedroom homes available to suit a range of purchasers.
The four-bedroom ‘Cambridge’ show home has been designed with a real family in mind and includes a bedroom designed for Issy, the young star of Redrow’s current marketing campaign.
Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “We asked the interior designers to envisage a real family when creating the scheme for the new show home. That way, when our customers look around, they are able to imagine themselves living here.
“We’ve thought about how each area of the home will be used so, for example, the kitchen / family room includes an area with a sofa and a wall-mounted TV, so children can be entertained while mum and dad are busy in the kitchen.”
A subtle colour palette of taupe, stone, ivory and charcoal keeps the property feeling light and airy. The lounge has been styled to create a more formal and glamorous living area with beautiful iridescent striped wallpaper and sateen fabrics at the windows.
Luxury is present throughout all aspects of the master and guest bedrooms, which have been given a boutique hotel feel. Bedroom one features chic crystal wallpaper while bedroom two has pinstriped window dressings.
A teenage boy’s room has been created in bedroom three, with a vintage car theme, a student’s desk and plenty of storage options, while bedroom four is Issy’s room.
“We wanted this room to feel like Issy really does live here so, although the design is soft and girlie with floral fabrics in shades of pink and green, there are also things you might not expect in a show home - like Issy’s wellies!” Anita added.
Since the launch earlier this year the two, three and four-bedroom homes at The Oaks have been proving very popular. Redrow believes its designs, many detached, are well chosen to suit local demand.
Anita continued: “Having been building locally for some time, we have a terrific insight into what Altrincham homebuyers are looking for. With our latest phase, The Oaks, we are providing something new and different, catering for professionals, young couples as well as the strong local family market.
“The combination of traditional exterior and modern interior adds up to a home that can readily compete with the second hand sector for external character and wins hands down when it comes to stylish interiors, practical layouts, being energy efficiency and easy to maintain.”
Set in a semi-rural location, Stamford Brook offers the best of both worlds. Woodland walkways and greenways are part of the development; yet the homes enjoy easy access to the local amenities of sought-after Altrincham with its trendy shops, bars and restaurants, plus a Waitrose supermarket just a stone’s throw away. Manchester city centre is easily reached by car or public transport and there’s good motorway access to other cities, including Chester and Liverpool, making it a great choice for commuters.
