Having moved from rented accommodation into a brand new home – John Christophrous and Georgaina Halder are reaping the benefits of being first time buyers.

The couple have recently moved into a brand new two-bed home at the Lindenwood development at Kingswood Parks near Hull – having purchased through Linden Homes’ popular First Buy Scheme.

Their new home not only provides them with a blank canvas on which to put their own stamp, but it also offers them a spacious, fresh and airy space of their own – complete with large garden.

Pipe fitter John (28) and 25-year-old Georgaina say curiosity initially led them to the development.

John said: “We were renting a house in Beverley and were curious about the new homes on Kingswood Parks. As a first time buyer, it made it a lot easier that I was able to apply for the First Buy scheme - and although there was a lot of paper work, it all went through pretty smoothly.

“I think the scheme is great and it has enabled us to get on the property ladder sooner than we may have otherwise.”

Requiring just a five per cent deposit, the First Buy scheme is designed specifically to support first time buyers.
It allows eligible buyers to own 100 per cent of their new home but only pay as little as 80 per cent of the price/mortgage.

The remaining 20 percent is met through the Government and Linden Homes by means of a loan – repayable on the resale of the property.

John and Georgaina are now part of the growing community at Kingswood Parks, where Linden Homes is building 79 fantastic new homes at the prime location midway between Hull and Beverley.

Georgaina said: “It’s great to be part of a new community at Lindenwood which is both warm and friendly. We love the fact that a number of homes close by were all completed at a similar time – meaning all the neighbours could get to know each other.”

The new one, two, three and four-bedroom homes will also benefit from the newly created Kingswood Parks Local Centre – with Linden Homes working closely with planners and architects to achieve the location’s full potential for its residents.

As one of the largest mixed-use developments to be undertaken anywhere in the country over the past 20 years, on completion it comprise 5,000 new homes with its own employment park, leisure park and district centre.

Prices at Lindenwood currently range from £109,950 to £189,950 and some new homes are ready to move into now.
