Morris offers househunters a helping hand in Liverpool

Local housebuilder Morris Homes is offering Liverpool househunters a variety of incentives at its development in West Derby to help them invest in a new home.

There are less than 20 homes available at The Point and Morris Homes is urging people to take advantage of the government-led FirstBuy and NewBuy schemes as well as its own 110 per cent part exchange scheme to make the house buying process easier.

With recent research showing that raising a deposit is still the main concern for 33 per cent of first-time buyers, the FirstBuy scheme is a welcome opportunity for househunters as it means they only need to put down a small deposit of five per cent.

The scheme also enables first-time buyers to purchase their home at 80 per cent of its market value, allowing them to benefit from lower monthly payments.

The NewBuy scheme is a government initiative which enables potential homebuyers to apply for a 95% mortgage on selected new-build homes across the country meaning they only need a five per cent deposit.

Morris’ 110 per cent part exchange scheme is for those looking to trade-up the property ladder as it means Morris will buy their existing property at its full market value and will pass them an additional 10 per cent to help with moving costs.

Properties available at the development include several three and four-bedroom detached houses as well as some bespoke apartments.

The Point is known for its landscaped grounds and close proximity to the local golf course. In recent months the incentive schemes have made it popular with young professionals seeking a rural location with good commuter links to Liverpool.

Regional sales director for Morris, Chris Minshall, said: “We know that buying a house is one of the most stressful experiences people go through and so our schemes are designed to make the process that bit easier.

“The FirstBuy and NewBuy schemes allow younger househunters to buy their first home with less up-front costs while the 110 per cent part exchange scheme means families are able to move homes without the hassle of having to sell their existing property first.”

Prices of the properties at The Point start from £124,750. For more information on the properties and schemes available, visit morrishomes.co.uk.
