Demonstrating that now is the time to get a foothold onto the property ladder in Chichester, recent research has highlighted home buyers using a shared equity scheme save an average of 12% than if they purchase a house on the open market.

Thanks to Taylor Wimpey’s commitment to supporting first time buyers with limited finances, the leading home builder is offering the much-admired FirstBuy shared equity scheme at Lion Park in Hambrook.

Due to popularity the 5% deposit initiative is only available on the four bedroom Teal house, so house hunters are urged to visit Lion Park soon before this sought-after property is snapped up.

Fiona Creed, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, comments: “FirstBuy in Hambrook has proved to be a real hit with local house hunters, so there is just the Teal property remaining with the scheme. The Teal is the ideal choice for families who haven’t been able to save for a home of their own as they can buy with a deposit of just £13,750 for this sizeable house.”

FirstBuy works through a joint loan of 20% from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Taylor Wimpey, which means that eligible purchasers only need pay a 5% deposit and obtain a 75% loan-to-value mortgage. The loan is repayable at the end of the 25 year mortgage term or when the property is sold. To be eligible, purchasers must be first time buyers and the total household earning should be less than £60,000.

The Teal hosts a welcoming entrance hallway, well proportioned kitchen with informal dining area, guest cloakroom and a large lounge with room for a dining table on the ground floor. Upstairs you’ll find the master bedroom with en suite, three further spacious bedrooms and the family bathroom. The Teal is priced at £275,000 or from as little as £220,000 with FirstBuy.

Alternative properties are available on the open market at Lion Park, including a selection of four bedroom homes with prices starting from £350,000.

Located on Broad Road, Lion Park currently has available a stunning range of one, two, three and four bedroom homes. The development is a new addition to Hambrook, a charming parish community set within a beautiful rural environment that offers a range of outdoor pursuits, from horse riding to sailing. This burgeoning residential area is close to the historic town of Chichester, and is ideally located close to major road networks, whilst London and Gatwick Airport can be easily accessed by rail.
