We do like to be beside the seaside

A mother-of-two from County Durham has found herself a brand new home and a new job all in the same month.
Alison Collinson, 40, who now works at Tutti Frutti sweet shop on Seaham seafront, was the first person to move into the new Miller Homes Mariners Way development along with her two children Joseph, 10 and Beth, 12 after relocating from East Shore Village, just along the road where she lived for eight years.
After being one of the first people on the site the day the show homes opened, Alison, who previously worked as a hairdresser, put a deposit down on her new three-bedroom Hurston home at this popular seaside development that same day.
Alison said: “I love living in Seaham, all our family and friends are here and the children are settled in a great school but I was at that time in my life where I wanted a fresh start for me and my children, so I had the urge to move home and get a new job!
“I saw the Mariners Way development and was one of the first to arrive at the site when it launched. I fell in love with the seaside location and the house styles so put a deposit straight down. The following few weeks I also secured a new job I love. I couldn’t be happier with the way things have worked out; my dream home and dream job all in the same month.”
Miller Homes’ Mariners Way sales adviser Adele Smart said: “I take great pride in helping people to find their dream home and Alison and her family are no exception. We wish them the very best for the future.”
House prices at Mariners Way range from £73,465 for a two-bedroom home, whilst a three-bedroom semi detached property can be bought from £149,950.
Show homes at Mariners Way include the four-bedroom Rolland and three-bedroom semi-detached view home ‘Tolkien’, which are available now for people to take a look around.
