Local housebuilder Morris Homes is offering a solution to first-time buyers in Burton-upon-Trent who are struggling to save the large deposit needed to step onto the property ladder.

While recent research suggests that a third of new buyers are concerned that they cannot afford the deposit required to purchase their first home, Morris presents a solution with the Government-led NewBuy scheme. This is available on a range of properties at its popular Paget Green development on Horninglow Road.

The helpful initiative allows first-time buyers to apply for a 95 per cent mortgage on selected new build properties at the site and move into home ownership using just a five per cent deposit.

Cindy Vials, regional sales director at Morris, said: “First-time buyers are keen to avoid the expensive rental market and move into home ownership, but large deposits are proving a stubborn obstacle to overcome.

“The NewBuy scheme gives those who would have previously struggled to raise the deposit a helping hand onto the property ladder at Paget Green.”

The new build homes at Paget Green are just minutes from a host of shops and local amenities on Burton-upon-Trent’s high street and offer convenient access to the nearby motorway network for commuting into Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and Birmingham.

A local Government initiative means that properties costing below £150,000 at the site are exempt from stamp duty fees.

Cindy added: “Paget Green provides a welcome tax break for buyers and is in an ideal location for young families and professionals looking for an affordable move to a quality home in Burton-upon-Trent.”

Morris currently has a selection of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties available at Paget Green starting from £94,750.
