Families urged to unlock a whole new world

As children return to school and the nights draw in, what better pastime to indulge in than curling up with a good book especially one of the modern classics created by literary genius, Roald Dahl.

Dahl, whose work is celebrated each year on 13th September, continues to fuel children’s imaginations with iconic tales. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Twits and The BFG are but a few amongst his collection of many which have been brought to life on stage and screen.

“Reading is one of life’s great enjoyments and we are keen to support children and families in the discovery of literary worlds,” commented Steve McElroy sales director Miller Homes Yorkshire. “Our properties, of which there is a wide range across the region, are designed to ensure our buyers feel completely relaxed in their new home so that they can find five minutes each day to enjoy a book either on their own or at family story time.”

For families, spacious children’s bedrooms are a must and should you require a little inspiration as to how you could turn your brand new house into a home, developments across the region have show homes to inspire and demonstrate the flexibility that a Miller Home can offer to its buyers.

“The ability to read unlocks a whole world of discovery and learning and what better place to start this than at home,” said Steve. “We urge parents to inspire their children through bedrooms designed to fuel their imagination and to take time, from a very early age to read to their children and in turn hear them read. Then, they can discover the delights of fantasy worlds created by the likes of Roald Dahl.”

Jeanette Holmes, interior designer who has created many of the striking interiors of Miller show homes added: “Children’s bedrooms should be able to provide a calm and peaceful setting come night-time but during the day should be a place where they can play, read, study and let their imaginations run wild. As well as the bed there should ideally be another seating or lounge area, a beanbag is great for this, where they can choose their favourite book to enjoy whatever their age.”

To make purchasing a new property as straightforward as possible Miller Homes has a range of incentives designed to help buyers from all walks of life from first time buyers to those looking to downsize.

Miller Homes currently has twelve developments located across the region, with properties ranging from one bedroom apartments priced from £59,500 to five bedroom executive homes priced from £320,000.
