Miller Homes East Midlands is aiming to showcase just how affordable buying a new home can be with a special event at its Leicestershire developments.

The housebuilder will be holding Independent Financial Advice days at its Lakeside Country Park development in Hamilton on Saturday 6 October and at Stretton Glen, in the village of Great Glen, on Sunday 7 October.

Visitors will be able to receive free no obligation advice from a team of independent financial experts, as well as explore the showhomes at each development.

“Many people are under the impression that they aren’t in a position to make a move,” commented Paul Walters, regional sales manager for Miller Homes East Midlands.

“The fact is that there are many purchase incentives available that make the moving process an extremely affordable and flexible one. In most cases, buying a new property can actually work out better value for money than renting when you look at average weekly spend.

“At Miller Homes, we are known for our caring approach, which is why we want to ensure that buyers make informed choices and are aware of all of the options available. Regardless of whether it is your first step onto the property ladder or if you’re looking to upgrade or downsize, the team at the IFA events will be on hand to shed some light on what many consider a daunting process.”

The Government-backed NewBuy scheme will be just one of the options available to discuss. Designed to help overcome the large deposit gap, NewBuy allows a home to be purchased with only a small deposit of 5-10%. Participating lenders then provide a 90-95% loan to value mortgage for those who meet the qualifying criteria.

Homes available at Lakeside Country Park as part of the scheme include the five-bedroom Swithland style property. With prices starting from £339,950, this spacious family home is packed full of quality features, including a master bedroom with dressing room and en-suite bathroom, a gallery landing and two reception rooms.

At Stretton Glen, NewBuy properties include the Auden, a three-bedroom home with prices starting from £230,000. This popular property type features a bay window overlooking the garden and a separate study.
