David Wilson opens new showhome at Burton Woods

Local housebuilder David Wilson Homes has unveiled a superb new addition to its show village at Burton Woods in Spennymoor.
There are now four showhomes on display at the development, offering potential buyers the opportunity to visualise the mark they could make on their own home at Burton Woods.
The latest is the “Fairway”, a welcoming 3-bedroom semi-detached home set on a corner plot and a great choice for growing families with over 1,000 sq ft of living space.
It has an impressive lounge and spacious dining kitchen, both with French windows leading into the garden, while the master bedroom includes wardrobes and en suite.
The “Fairway” is priced from £167,000 and buyers could see their deposits cut by at least £16,000 by using the Government-backed NewBuy scheme.
The scheme means buyers could need just a five per cent deposit, rather than a much larger amount, which dramatically reduces the outlay needed.
Homebuyers purchasing a home priced at £167,000 previously would have paid a 15 per cent deposit of £25,050, but with the five per cent deposit available with NewBuy this is reduced to just £8,350. The scheme is only available on new build properties.
David Wilson reports that NewBuy is proving popular with buyers in the region. Sales Director Fenton Hewitt said: “Creditworthy families who have put their plans to buy a new home on hold for the last few years can once again think of their future.
“Many have been frustrated by the large deposits of 15 per cent or more needed on the open market. Thanks to NewBuy the deposit has been radically reduced and customers can borrow more at a lower interest rate.”
The housebuilder is also offering the scheme together with 100 per cent market value part exchange for buyers with a property to sell.
“Linking NewBuy and part exchange makes moving up to one of our homes easier and more affordable than ever,” added Fenton.
Burton Woods is in a lovely country setting at Whitworth Park. The showhomes are open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm (11.00am to 6.00pm Mondays). For more details, visit dwh.co.uk/burtonwoods.
