Bellway Homes has two current developments on the east side of the country, within the Kingdom of Fife and the Heart of Midlothian, that in terms of square footage, pricing and design layout highlight that buyers don’t have to take up residency in Edinburgh to enjoy capital living!

Located in Cowdenbeath, Birchwood offers an impressive collection of two, three and four-bedroom homes. Currently available is the hugely appealing four-bedroom, three-storey Islay townhouse. Contemporary in design and layout, this expansive family home features a spacious lounge, large dining kitchen and cloakroom on the ground floor. The first floor accommodates two double-bedrooms and the main bathroom, while the second floor is home to two further double bedrooms, including the master with en-suite.

This Islay provides buyers with great flexibility, allowing them to utilise the space that best suits their changing requirements over the years. Further adding its appeal, the Islay (plot 41) is currently ‘house of the month’ at the development. Originally priced at £179,995, the property is now available for just £135,995, this means that one lucky buyer can not only secure this substantial home, but flooring and curtains throughout are included within the sale, as is an upgraded kitchen and turfing to the rear garden.

Moving from a location north of the capital to one situated to the south of it, is Duchess Park in Dalkeith, Midlothian. Similar to Birchwood, buyers here will also been impressed with the size of home the can secure for the price – especially given the accessibility of the town to Edinburgh.

Duchess Park offers a beautiful collection of three-bedroom semi-detached properties and three and four-bedroom detached villas. The innovative design layout, stylish specification and superior finish of each property has ensured both local buyers wishing to upsize and re-locators wanting to move to an idyllic setting close to the city centre have sought to set up home at the development. Prices at Duchess Park are released from just £179,995.

Fraser Conn, Sales and Marketing Director at Bellway Homes, comments: “Interest in Birchwood and Duchess Park remains consistent, which is due to several similar factors coming together that appeal to buyers. Namely, they provide stylish new homes situated within excellent locations that offer great accessibility to Edinburgh without a city centre price tag – clients continue to be pleasantly surprised by the size of property the can secure.”

Bellway Homes also has a choice on incentives available across both developments, including Part Exchange and 5% Deposit Paid, both geared to support prospective buyers under current market conditions.

The company is a provider of ‘Mi New Home’, a new initiative developed by the home building industry and supported by the Scottish Government that aims to help overcome the difficulty caused by large deposit requirements. This initiative is open to anyone looking to buy a new property up to the value of £250,000, it is enabling buyers to secure a home with only a 5% deposit and also benefit from the availability of a 95% mortgage from participating lenders.

Birchwood is also close to the nearby historic towns of Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy. Cowdenbeath provides a semi-rural setting that enjoys a number of local services, from primary and secondary schools, to supermarkets and a wide-choice of local shops on its busy High Street. The development is within easy reach of Lochore Meadows Country Park, with 1,200 acres of beautiful woodland.

A former market town with a rich heritage, including a 12th century castle and 18th century Dalkeith House, as well as its own country park, today Dalkeith is a bustling town with a good selection of shopping and leisure facilities.

Dalkeith Community Campus, close to Duchess Park, provides secondary education at Dalkeith High and St David’s secondary schools. Newcraighall Station is only four miles from the development, with ‘park and ride’ facilities off Sheriffhall roundabout, which operates a regular service to Waverley Station.
