A Christmas move could still be on the cards for buyers who would like to be settled into a new home for the festive season, says housebuilder David Wilson North East.

The company has a choice of homes available, ranging from two-bedroom properties for first-time buyers or downsizers, up to six-bedroom luxury family homes.

There’s a choice of help on offer too, with the NewBuy mortgage scheme plus 100 per cent market value part exchange for those with a property to sell.

Demand is growing in the region for the Government-backed NewBuy initiative, because of the substantially lower five per cent deposit required, reports David Wilson.

Homebuyers purchasing a new two-bedroom home priced at £145,000, for example, would typically have paid a 15 per cent deposit of £21,750, but with NewBuy this is reduced to just £7,250.

Sales Director Fenton Hewitt said: “Creditworthy families who have put their plans to buy a new home on hold for the last few years can once again think of their future.

“Many have been frustrated by the large deposits of 15 per cent or more needed on the open market, but thanks to NewBuy the deposit has been radically reduced and customers can borrow more at a lower interest rate.

“Buyers can also use it with our part exchange service to sidestep the stress and extra expense of trying to sell an existing property.”

David Wilson has homes which will be ready to move into for Christmas at The Willows and Teal Farm Village in Washington, Elba Park near Houghton-le-Spring, and Riverside Crescent, Blaydon.

Prices range from £145,000 for a two-bedroom home at Elba Park up to £595,000 for a six-bedroom property at The Willows.

All feature interiors with free-flowing living areas which maximise space and natural light, and are built to the highest standards with top quality materials and superb craftsmanship throughout.

Showhomes are open at all four developments, for more details, visit dwh.co.uk.
