Barratt North East is set to start work on a new development of homes for first-time buyers and families in Spennymoor.

Merrington Park will provide a mix of 2, 3 and 4-bedroom homes from the housebuilder’s new County Range, some of which are being built in the North East for the first time.

Work is due to begin on the site in Vyners Close in the next few weeks and Sales Director Fenton Hewitt said: “We’re really looking forward to starting this new development.

The County Range designs blend traditionally-styled exteriors with free-flowing living spaces.

New features include floor-to-ceiling glazed “light pods”, which double the amount of window space compared to traditional patio doors, and redesigned kitchens with integrated dining and family areas, perfect for relaxing.

And as fuel bills continue to soar, they are around 40 per cent more energy efficient than houses built just ten years ago.
