Housebuilder grows green thumbs in NW6

A fantastic nature reserve covering almost an acre has been opened at Taylor Wimpey Central London’s West Hampstead development, The Mill Apartments, encouraging educational opportunities, biodiversity and local wildlife habitat regeneration. The tree lined park will be handed back to Camden Council in perpetuity and will be unveiled by the Council shortly.
A unique development, two thirds of The Mill Apartments site area remains a landscaped nature reserve and has been designed as such, to provide a positive contribution to the local community.
Ingrid Skinner, MD, Taylor Wimpey Central London, comments: “We understand the importance of sustainability, providing strong, vibrant and healthy communities while also protecting and improving the natural, built and historic environment in which we invest.
“It is an incredibly important for house builders to contribute to the local communities in which they build. This is therefore something that Taylor Wimpey Central London continues to make a priority, providing our developments with useful and attractive facilities both for our customers and for the surrounding residents and communities to enjoy.
“It is so unusual for a residential development in a well established location like West Hampstead to have such a large green space developed alongside it and Taylor Wimpey Central London is proud to have contributed to the enhancement of the surrounding environment.”
The nature reserve will also provide a space in which local wildlife, including the lesser spotted woodpecker, bullfinch and stag beetle, can create new habitats.
Only a handful of two and three bedroom homes remain at the exclusive development, along with three spectacular penthouse apartments which offer amazing panoramas of London, including landmarks such as the Gherkin, the Shard and the London Eye.
Each apartment is fitted out to the highest quality, with products including Villaroy & Boch sanitary ware and Grohe utilities in the bathroom, Siemens kitchen appliances, integrated wardrobes in the bedrooms and hardwood flooring in the living areas, complete with under floor heating, all comes as standard.
A highly sought-after location, West Hampstead is a transport hub for Londoners working in Mayfair and the City, with considerable investment recently made in the local Thameslink station which runs straight through to St Pancras, Farringdon, City Thameslink and Blackfriars. West Hampstead underground station, on the Jubilee Line, whisks commuters to Bond Street in under 15 minutes, whilst significant improvements to the London Overground network will provide fast routes to West and East London.
West Hampstead’s up-market high street, the well reputed West End Lane, is packed with boutique shops, trendy bars, cafes and restaurants that create a village feel, attracting a wide range of visitors from neighbouring areas of North West London, such as Hampstead Garden Suburbs, St John’s Wood and Swiss Cottage.
