First time buyers invited to meet Barratt property experts in Southampton
First time buyers in Southampton are being offered an insight into how straightforward it can be to take their first steps onto the housing ladder.
Barratt is hosting special events at city’s Hollybrook Lodge and Hinkler Place developments on Thursday 10 January from 2pm to 7pm. And buyers will also have the opportunity to find out about the schemes in place to make owning a first home easier than ever.
“The focus at the event will be on FirstBuy which is designed purely for first time buyers,” said Barratt sales director Sarah Eales. “And NewBuy, which offers 95 per cent mortgages.”
A team of experts from Barratt, together with financial experts, will be on hand for both events. And there will also be an opportunity to take a closer look at the homes on offer at the popular new developments.
“There will be plenty of stylish new homes for our potential buyers to look at and choose from,” added Sarah.
“I think many first time buyers are still unaware of the help available to them to get onto the property ladder, so this event provides a great opportunity for Barratt to showcase how we can help.”
Barratt has a number of options available to first time buyers at Hollybrook Lodge and Hinkler Place, including FirstBuy. Under the popular scheme buyers are offered a loan of up to 20 per cent of the price of the property, jointly funded by Barratt and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency.
Buyers then have to find the remaining 80 per cent of the price themselves made up of the deposit and mortgage.
Visitors to both developments will also learn more about NewBuy which has seen the return of 95 per cent mortgages for those buying a new home.
Interest in the scheme is being driven by the dramatically reduced deposit needed to buy a new home, giving creditworthy buyers the best opportunity for five years to get onto the housing ladder.
