The new Audi A3 Sportback has already been launched on UK shores and is about to hit Ridgeway Group’s forecourts in Oxford and Newbury. The A3 Sportback is unmistakably Audi in design and handling, with a robust body shape softened and refined by sporty and contemporary lines and curves and slick design that continues inside too. The wheelbase is longer than on the standard Audi A3, which translates into more space in the boot and in the rear seats, making it more comfortable and even more practical than its predecessor.
Petrol and diesel engines are both available. In petrol, pick from the 1.4-litre or top-of-the-range 1.8-litre, or enquire about the 1.2-litre on its way in the latter half of 2013. In diesel, the 1.6-litre emits just 99g/km of CO2 and 74 MPG, and the 2.0-litre is more powerful but still fuel efficient.
Inside, the technology is all controlled from the steering wheel, and voice activated Bluetooth and iPod connectivity come as standard. Air conditioning will keep you cool in summer and warm in winter, with a choice of cloth or leather upholstered seats, or a combination of the two.
