Award-winning housebuilder Crest Nicholson is helping first-time buyers to get onto the property ladder in Gloucestershire, with homes at its popular Whitstone Hundred at Hunts Grove development, available for 80% of the property price.

Using the FirstBuy scheme, Crest Nicholson is offering struggling first-time buyers the chance to enter the property market in a way they can afford. Purchasers get to own 100% of their home for just 80% of the price, as Crest Nicholson and the government-backed Homes and Communities Agency offer a loan of up to 20% of the full purchase price. The loan is interest free for the first five years, after which a fee of 1.75% is payable. Loans must be repaid when the home is sold and purchasers must be able to contribute a 5% deposit.

FirstBuy is now available on selected plots of the three bedroom Huntingdon and Woodchester house types at Whitstone Hundred at Hunts Grove.

Tim Ridges Sales Manager for Crest Nicholson, said: “For the last few years it’s been difficult for first-time buyers to get a foot on the property ladder, but with FirstBuy at Hunts Grove, Crest Nicholson and the government are opening the door to potential purchasers’ first home. The development’s excellent access to commuter networks including the M5 and Gloucester train station has made it especially attractive to couples and young families, who also appreciate Whitstone Hundred’s proximity to local rural villages and country-style living.”

Ideal for first-time buyers, the three bedroom Huntingdon house type offers a spacious open plan living room on the ground floor with French Doors leading onto the garden, making it the perfect space in which to entertain. Also on this floor is the modern fitted kitchen and dining area, useful storage space and downstairs cloakroom. To the first floor, purchasers will find the contemporary master bedroom complete with an en suite, a further double bedroom, the family bathroom and a third bedroom, which would make an ideal nursery or study. The Huntingdon also enjoys its own garage, and parking space.

Prices at Hunts Grove using the FirstBuy scheme start from £127,996 for a Huntingdon and £137,596 for a Woodchester.
