Buyers get help to buy new Congerstone family home

Morris Homes is offering buyers in Congerstone an unexpected chance to make their dream move up the property ladder with the launch of six new homes and the arrival of the Help to Buy Government initiative at its popular Barton Gate development.

The company is building six new four-bedroom detached family homes after planning permission was granted to extend the site following the success of the original scheme of homes at the site. Morris is now offering buyers a final chance to snap up one of its new build properties in the picturesque Leicestershire village.

The properties are all available with the groundbreaking Government Help to Buy scheme. The new initiative helps buyers aiming to trade up to a larger home as it means they only need a five per cent deposit to buy a new build property. The Government backs them with an interest free equity loan to make up a further 20 per cent of the deposit, which means buyers are eligible for 75 per cent mortgages with significantly lower monthly payments.

Research from Morris shows that a quarter of homeowners in the East Midlands are putting off their house move because they aren’t sure they will find a mortgage, so the availability of the Help to Buy scheme at Barton Gate is a welcome boost for buyers.

“Interest in the properties is high, and the availability of the Help to Buy scheme means buyers can benefit from needing a much smaller deposit to make the move up the property ladder to their dream family home.”

Barton Gate is located in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside but also offers buyers convenient access to the M1 and M42 for commuting. There are just six homes available at the site, which are priced from £299,750.
