A helpful start for first-time buyers in Sedgley

Morris Homes is helping first-time buyers jump onto the property ladder with the arrival of its first apartment block and the Government’s Help-to-Buy scheme at its popular Sedgley development.

Average deposits in the West Midlands for first-time buyers have climbed to a staggering £25,295, but the new Government Help-to-Buy scheme means they only need a 5% deposit to purchase a new build home. The Government will then support them with a loan for up to 20% of the property’s value.

The Help-to-Buy scheme is available on the new homes at Morris’ Eden Fields site on Charles Hayward Drive, and means buyers can get on the property ladder with a deposit of just £6,288. Work is underway on 24 two-bedroom apartments at the site, and the Kensington, Amersham and Belsize apartments are now on sale in the first of three apartment buildings, Beacon House, and start from just £125,750.

Cindy Cade, regional sales director at Morris, said: “The new Help-to-Buy scheme is a welcome boost for first-time buyers in the West Midlands who, faced with the prospect of saving a huge deposit, would otherwise be stuck in rented property or at their parents’ house for the foreseeable future.

“With the arrival of both the scheme and our new apartments at Eden Fields, now is a great time for first-time buyers to buy their first home and enjoy living at a development that has quick links to both Wolverhampton and Birmingham city centres.”

Eden Fields has been thoughtfully landscaped to complement its picturesque countryside location, and the new apartments boast an open plan living space and a modern fitted bathroom.

For more information about the schemes and properties available at Eden Fields, visit the sales office at Charles Hayward Drive, Sedgley, Wolverhampton, WV4 6GB (open Thursday to Monday 10.30am to 5.30pm), or log on to morrishomes.co.uk.
