Subaru dealer to cycle to Paris

5th June 2009 Print
Mick Wyatt Not content with trekking the Great Wall of China to raise funds on behalf of the Meningitis Trust, Mick Wyatt, General Manager of Subaru Dealer, Carstins, will be taking part in the London-Paris Cycle Tour on June 19-22.

Mick’s son, Tom, was only 17 when he died within 24 hours of contracting a rare form of Meningitis in 2007. Confronted with this tragedy, Mick, together with his family and friends, have channelled all their efforts into raising much-needed funds for the charity but, more importantly, awareness. Following a burglary at their home, funds from a recent fund-raising event were stolen and it has made them even more determined to help make up the shortfall.

Mick said: “Following our devastating loss we have raised more than £34,000 for the Trust and can’t thank our supporters enough for helping us to help other families in similar situations.”

The London-Paris Cycle Tour is a unique three-day ‘Tour de France’ style endurance event for amateur riders. It is the professional event for amateurs and like a pro event, it has full support, and covers 300km in three days.

If anyone would like to sponsor Mick please contact him on 01676 533145.
