Chedham’s Yard in Wellesbourne is inviting visitors to delve into their pasts and explore their family history at a special workshop. “Who do you think you are!” takes place on Saturday 18 May and is being run as part of Family & Community History month. This fascinating workshop will give visitors the chance to look at their own family tree and that of the Chedham family. Visitors are encouraged to bring along photographs and mementos and find out what their history might reveal. Instead of the usual entrance fee, entry will be by donation.

As part of the event, Chedham’s Yard is also running two family history sessions at Wellesbourne Library on Monday 12 May and Wednesday 22 May from 10am – 12noon. The sessions, which are free of charge, will be run by one of the volunteers, Michael Dane and will involve showing people the basics of how to use family history websites. Michael has extensive experience in this field and is part of the U3A Family History Group.

Emma Banks, Heritage Project Officer said: “Our workshop will be a fascinating insight into family history and along with Michael’s expertise; it will be interesting to see what people might discover about their pasts. I’m sure they’ll be plenty of skeleton’s to come out in people’s cupboards……!”

Tickets must be pre-booked via the website at chedhamsyard.org.uk. Chedham’s Yard is open to pre-booked visitors every Saturday until the 21 September. For more information on Chedham’s Yard, visit chedhamsyard.org.uk.
