Local community facilities in the Nottinghamshire village of Calverton are set to benefit from an investment of well over £500,000 as part of a brand new homes development coming soon from Taylor Wimpey East Midlands.

The leading housebuilder has already commenced construction at The Brambles, an impressive collection of 126 new homes of high-quality two, three and four-bedroom properties off Collyer Road, after receiving planning permission for the development from Gedling Borough Council in November last year.

A total of £517,500 has been pledged by Taylor Wimpey in association with the development, including £297,830 towards local education provision, £112,320 towards transport infrastructure and £107,350 towards healthcare services.

Further contributions towards improving existing public open spaces and recreation areas in the community are also set to be agreed with the local authority, while 25 of the new homes to be constructed at The Brambles will be designated as affordable housing for local people to either rent and or purchased shared ownership.

Dominic Harman, Managing Director of Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, says: “Every single new home we build at Taylor Wimpey is part of a community, and everything we do has a benefit not just for our new home owners but the whole local community. We are committed to ensuring this exciting new development in Calverton offers much more than just high-quality properties for local people.

“Our sales office has just been delivered and will be open next week when the first new homes at The Brambles are likely to be released for sale. Potential home owners can make sure they are kept up to date with the latest information and full details of Help to Buy and all the ways Taylor Wimpey can help them make the move to their new home by registering their interest now.

The development benefits from an enviable location bordering peaceful open countryside on the edge of Sherwood Forest, with a host of convenient facilities for day-to-day living close at hand.

Local shops, a health centre, a library, pubs and places to eat, plus Sainsbury’s and Co-op supermarkets are just a few of the varied local amenities in Calverton – as are schools for children of all ages.

Just beyond the borders of The Brambles lie footpaths and woodland trails for enjoying the great outdoors, while the village boasts a wealth of sports facilities including a leisure centre, two golf clubs, a football club and a cricket club.

Meanwhile, around eight miles away is Nottingham’s vibrant city centre, for a rich variety of shopping, leisure and entertainment opportunities.

The Brambles is perfectly located to get out and about, with convenient links to the region’s road network, while Nottingham’s railway station offers regular direct services to London St Pancras as well as Liverpool, Leeds and Birmingham.
