The Co-operative bank leading the way in customer service
A new YouGov customer survey released this month has revealed that the Co-operative Bank, along with its internet arm, smile.co.uk, has come out on top of its high street competitors.
Over ten thousand adult current account holders took the survey, with customers ranking each establishment according to their online and telephone banking services, as well as the trust and satisfaction they felt towards their banks.
The Co-operative Bank enjoyed great results with customers, who ranked them third overall. They scored top marks for Best Branch Customer Service, and made third place in the Best Current Account Provider category.
Smile, which is the Co-operative Bank’s internet branch, performed even better in the survey, taking first and second place across most of the other categories, in particular the Most Trusted, Best Value for Money and the Best Email Customer Service categories.
This comes at a time when faith in high street banks is at an all-time low, with consumer confidence depleted from low levels of satisfaction in customer service and care.
Interestingly, the survey highlighted that a mere 9 per cent of 18 to 24-year olds completely trusted their account provider, which is important, considering the imminent new seven-day account switching process is about to come into force.
