Redrow has already experienced sales success at Thorpe Meadow and with Help to Buy offering buyers the chance to save thousands of pounds off the initial purchase price, now even more people could benefit from owning a stylish new home.

The Government-backed scheme offers those with a 5% deposit the chance to take out an equity loan for up to 20% of the property’s value, helping to make their money go further.

Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), commented: “Sales of homes at Thorpe Meadow have really taken off and we’re now selling around four a month. We’re also working with other potential purchasers who want to move here and have been explaining the various ways we can help make that possible.

“People are keen to find out more about Help to Buy and we have seen an increase in enquiries following the introduction of the scheme. It’s a welcome boost for those who want or need to move, but perhaps don’t have substantial equity in their current property to fund a step up the ladder. Our friendly, experienced sales consultants are happy to guide customers through the scheme to make moving simple and straight forward.”

Thorpe Meadow includes a choice of four and five-bedroom homes from the sought-after New Heritage Collection with current prices from £259,995. A four-bedroom Cambridge style property that’s ready to move into can be purchased from £279,995 or an initial outlay of £239,995 with Help to Buy.

The Help to Buy price is made up of a 5% deposit from the customer of £14,000 and a mortgage of £209,996, which amounts to 75% of the property’s full value. The remaining share is covered by an equity loan, which is interest free for five years and can be repaid when the customer has more funds available or when they resell.

Alternatively, those who can afford the monthly mortgage repayments but perhaps don’t have a large cash deposit or substantial equity in the home they’re moving from could opt to take out a 95% mortgage through the NewBuy initiative.

Or those with a house to sell could secure a buyer through Redrow’s Mastermove service. The award-winning housebuilder may even take a customer’s property in part exchange for a brand new home.

Located off Leicester Road and surrounded by green fields on three sides, Thorpe Meadow enjoys a beautiful village setting yet is only six miles south of Leicester city and also within easy reach of the M1.
