Work on new homes takes off
Work to prepare the former HMS Gosling Camp in Warrington for new luxury homes is underway.
The former HMS Gosling camp has been abandoned since its closure in April 1959 and is now being transformed by Elan Homes to make way for 25 new homes.
Andrew Robertson, senior sales manager for Elan Homes in the North, said: “The former HMS Gosling has been closed for more than 50 years so we’re delighted to be bringing the site back into good use. We felt that while we’re providing homes for the future it is only fitting that we remember and promote the site’s history by naming the development Gosling Park. We have recently completed the demolition of the derelict buildings that stood on the site and will soon start work constructing the 25 four and five-bedroom detached family homes.”
The 25 homes will be set within almost seven hectares of woodland and public open space. Proposed within these areas are a woodland walk, wildflower meadow and public information boards containing details of the site’s history and wildlife – some of which will be designed by pupils of the local schools.
“We will be releasing the first homes at Gosling Park for sale in the summer and have already received a large number of enquiries from people who are keen to move here and want to know more. We are therefore inviting potential purchasers to register their interest now so that they can be kept informed of our progress,” Andrew explains.
“As a privately owned business our focus is on building quality homes in desirable locations and Gosling Park fits the bill on both counts. We will be enhancing the area surrounding the new homes to ensure it will be an attractive place where people will really want to live. In fact, the executive family homes will enjoy an idyllic rural location as we will be leaving around 80% of the site as a protected woodland and a wildlife area, providing opportunities for residents to enjoy the great outdoors close to home.”
The homes at Gosling Park will boast family friendly features including open plan layouts, stylish kitchens fitted with quality appliances and en-suites to master bedrooms to complement family bathrooms.
For purchasers who buy early in the build process, there is the opportunity to tailor make their home by choosing everything from kitchens and bathroom designs to flooring and fireplaces.
