Homes to replace garden nursery as Elan Homes grows its business

30th May 2013 Print

Luxurious homes are set to replace greenhouses as part of a £6million scheme to redevelop a former garden nursery in Liverpool.

The acquisition of the 1.3 acre site, which was once part of the University of Liverpool, is the latest chapter in the success story of Elan Homes.

The company, with its northern headquarters in Ellesmere Port, is celebrating its fifth year in business and is growing from strength to strength with a strong sales record and several new sites launching.

Already this year, both the popular Riverside at the Racecourse development in Chester and the exclusive Cedars View in Mickle Trafford have sold out.

Elan has also seen phenomenal success at The Maples in Crewe, and Waters Edge in Nantwich, both of which launched in January. At The Maples all of the nine homes have now been sold, while over at Waters Edge there are now only five of the 13 properties are still available.

At Thornton Cross in Thornton, near Crosby, half of the properties have been sold and with this latest acquisition Elan will be giving discerning buyers more to choose from.

Richard Dean, land acquisition director for Elan Homes in the North, says: “The acquisition of land is key to the growth of our business and we’re constantly looking for new sites in desirable locations. Located off Carnatic Road in the Mossley Hill Conservation Area of South Liverpool the former garden nursery site was a natural choice. The greenhouses and outbuildings have already been cleared and we’re looking forward to developing the land to provide premium quality homes.”

Elan plans to build 16 large and luxurious townhouses with four and five bedrooms at the site, to be known as Carnatic Court. Properties at the exclusive, gated development are expected to be much sought after due to the combination of the high specification and the location – the homes will be built close to Sefton Park in the desirable L18 postcode

“The homes at Carnatic Court have been carefully designed by our highly skilled team of architects who have paid keen attention to detail to ensure that properties are in keeping with the character of the area,” Richard adds.

Building work is due to start in the summer, with the first homes expected to be released for sale in the autumn.

Elan is currently selling homes across the North including Thornton Cross in Thornton; Woodside Court, Cranage; Parklands, Audenshaw; Waters Edge, Nantwich; Forest Rose, Mouldsworth and Heritage Park in Penymynydd with Gosling Park in Warrington soon to launch.

The developer is also looking for additional land with development potential. Those with suitable land available are urged to email landnorthern[at]elan-homes.co.uk.
