Cooking on gas at Oakmere

28th June 2013 Print

Residents living in the parish of Oakmere are now able to access a mains gas supply for the first time - thanks to a new development on Chester Road, Oakmere.

Wainhomes has recently opened two show homes at its Four Oaks development and the company has spared no expense in building 58 executive four and five bedroom detached homes – this includes investing over £500,000 in a new gas pipeline. However, it won’t just be Wainhomes residents that benefit from the financial outlay.

Sharon Wood, Regional Sales Director for the company, said: “Wainhomes has purchased a 90mm and 125mm diameter pipeline which has been laid across 4.4km down to the Chester Road site. This significant investment will offer local residents the opportunity to extend the network and receive natural gas should they wish to.”

Councillor Bill McGibbon, Chairman of Oakmere Parish Council said: “Wainhomes reacted positively with the Parish Council during the design stages of the project. The company was happy to incorporate our design suggestions to complement the local vernacular, as well as making this significant investment in mains gas. Now many local residents will be able to enjoy the benefits of their decision.”

Oakmere is a prestigious scheme for Wainhomes, which is immediately apparent when walking around the beautifully appointed four bedroom Oxford and five bedroom Raleigh show homes. The properties which include a double garage, offer contemporary, spacious living accommodation designed with the needs of the modern family in mind. At the heart of the home is an open plan kitchen and family room and the superior specification, typical of all properties at Four Oaks is apparent.

Visitors have been bowled over by the luxury fitted kitchens with integrated appliances including double oven, five ring gas hob, stainless steel extractor hood and splashback, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washer dryer - and Sharon said the discerning homebuyer would expect nothing less than energy efficient cookers and boilers provided by mains gas.

Alec Bromley is Field Operations Manager for Fulcrum Utility Services, the utility connections provider that installed the new pipeline. He said: “Four Oaks benefits from good road and rail connections to the wider North West and is located in the heart of the Cheshire countryside near to Delamere Forest. It provides a great setting for a family home, however, one of the drawbacks of a rural location like this can be the lack of access to a natural gas supply.

“We worked closely with the local authority and the local community to ensure there was minimal disruption and scarring to the road surface as we carried out this work on what is a main trunk road.

“Fulcrum will shortly be contacting the wider area around Four Oaks to explain how residents can access the new natural gas supply which could be substantially cheaper than oil or LPG and is a much cleaner fuel.”

Wainhomes says it has been happy to provide this additional service to the local community as well as ensuring its own properties at this prestigious development provide everything families would expect from a luxury home. “Thanks to the provision of this new gas pipe we believe this development really does tick all the boxes when it comes to offering a perfect location for families,” she said.

The Sales & Marketing Suite on Chester Road, Oakmere is open Thursday to Monday inclusive between 10am - 5pm (open late night Thursday until 7pm). Wainhomes offers a variety of schemes help you move home including Part Exchange, NewBuy and Help to Buy on selected plots, terms and conditions apply.
