Newton-le-Willows welcomes Bishops Gate

Prior to its recent launch the highly anticipated Bishops Gate development in Newton-le-Willows saw a great level of interest. Since the opening however, leading homebuilder Taylor Wimpey says the response has been unprecedented.

Regional sales manager for Taylor Wimpey North West, Lynne Vogel, said: “Merseyside’s house hunters have welcomed Bishops Gate with open arms. We are thrilled that our new homes have been so well received.

Lynne continues: “The demand for new homes in the area is exceeding expectations – we’ve already put through reservations on several homes that are available off-plan from homeowners who are taking advantage of buying at this early stage. The numbers of potential purchasers through the doors has been staggering for the first month and the phones are continuing to ring. This idyllic small market town is such a beautiful place to live; we shouldn’t be surprised that Bishops Gate has been a success story at this early stage.”

Bishops Gate will comprise of 84 new homes offering a range of two, three and four bedroom designs all available through Help to Buy, the scheme through which purchasers need only put down a 5% deposit having a Government loan of 20% and a mortgage of 75%.

“The homes available offer something for everyone, from first time buyers to larger families as well as downsizers,” Lynne adds. “Those interested in buying through the government backed initiative at Bishops Gate should speak to our sales team to see how the scheme could help them. Our sales executives can also show you the options available when choosing your dream home and discuss our range of other incentives that could enable you to start packing up boxes sooner than you thought.”

Amongst the homes on offer, the Dadford house type is a three bedroom mews/semi-detached home which is ideal for growing families priced from £147,995 and is also available through Help to Buy with only a 5% deposit of just under £7,400. Also available is the Bradenham, a four bedroom detached family home priced from just £221,995 which through the government backed scheme would only require a 5% deposit of just under £12,000.

Situated on Crow Lane East at the former St Aelred’s Catholic Technology College, Bishops Gate is not far from Newton-le-Willows’ high street with its variety of high street shops and independent boutiques. Aside from the excellent local amenities, which also include large supermarkets in close proximity, Bishops Gate is surrounded by an abundance of green open space.

For commuters, the development is just a short drive from major road networks including the A49 and A580 with access to the M6 and M62. For those who prefer travelling by train both Newton-le-Willows and Earlstown railway stations offer services to popular commuter destinations including Manchester, Liverpool, St Helens, Warrington and Chester.
