Bentley Drivers Club enjoy unforgettable day at Salisbury Cathedral

29th April 2009 Print
Bentley Drivers Club Salisbury Cathedral welcomed sixty members from the Mid-West Region of the Bentley Drivers Club with their thirty Bentley cars, models dating from the 1920s to 1990s, for a special day out in April.

Fiona Nelder, Group Visitor Co-ordinator, arranged for them to drive into The Close, have parking permits for the day and press photographs taken in front of the Cathedral of seven cars which represented the different decades and styles of these beautiful vehicles.

The delicious home cooking for which the Cathedral Refectory is renowned was enjoyed by the members (coffee, lunch and tea), who were also given specially guided floor and tower tours of the Cathedral. Members were invited to end their day by attending Evensong at 5.30pm sung by the Cathedral Choir fresh back from their tour to France.

Capt Chris Pack, Chairman, said it was the most marvellous day out for his members. “Our visit to Salisbury Cathedral was a great success. Many of our members were quite ecstatic regarding all aspects of the day, particularly the quality of the guiding. The tower tour was especially memorable.”

Salisbury Cathedral offers a warm welcome to all Tour Groups and their organisers. Please contact Fiona at: f.nelder@salcath.co.uk or telephone 01722 555124 to discuss your specific requirements to ensure your visit here is equally successful.
