The Royal Crescent, the latest phase in Barratt London’s New South Quarter development in Croydon, has launched, offering one and two-bedroom apartments, with prices starting from £191,000. Located at the heart of the development, Royal Crescent is in a prime position adjacent to the River Wandle, which after having been lost underground for more than forty years, is being brought back to the surface as part of a green regeneration scheme for the area.

Each of the suites and apartments has either a balcony or terrace from which many residents will be able to enjoy the peaceful river views. Residents will also appreciate the on-site facilities, which include a café, nursery and an outside communal space.

The interiors of the homes at the Royal Crescent have been designed in a contemporary style, with each home offering a flexible open-plan living area as well as fully fitted kitchens. Residents will be able to move in to the first section of this phase by December 2013, with the whole phase scheduled for completion in June 2014.

Once complete, Barratt London’s New South Quarter will comprise 923 studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments at the heart of Croydon’s green regeneration and just a short walk from Wandle Park, which is currently undergoing a striking redevelopment.

With the support of Barratt, the redevelopment of Wandle Park aims to bring Croydon’s green areas back to their former glory. In addition to a £1m contribution from Barratt, the Mayor of London’s Help a London Park scheme, with assistance from The Friends of Wandle Park, has contributed £400,000 to help transform Wandle Park.

New South Quarter is conveniently located next to Wandle Park tram station with services into West Croydon and East Croydon taking under 10 minutes. Along with a regular train service from West Croydon, London Bridge can also be accessed from East Croydon in 15 minutes. New South Quarter is also ideally positioned near the M25 (9.7 miles away), the M23 (8.3 miles away) and Gatwick Airport (20 miles).
