Aspiring homebuyers can find out how purchasing a brand new property could be cheaper than renting by visiting Nelsons Quarter, Taylor Wimpey’s sought-after development at Swaffham, Norfolk.

Property-seekers may be surprised to find buying one of the stunning new-build homes at the development is an affordable alternative to paying costly rents, thanks to the great-value prices and helpful homebuyer incentives available.

At Nelsons Quarter, qualifying first-time buyers and existing homeowners can access a stylish two-bedroom house, for example, for 80% of its £130,995 full price under the Government’s new Help To Buy shared equity.

With the average monthly rent for a similar-sized property in Swaffham at £570, getting on to the property ladder with a new Taylor Wimpey home is more affordable than potential purchasers may think.

Tammy Taylor, Regional Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey, says: “It is a common misconception that living in rented accommodation is cheaper than buying, when, in fact, the opposite is often true.

“With some great homebuyer deals on offer at Nelsons Quarter, there really is no reason for renters to continue lining their landlords’ pockets when they could be investing in their future with a brand new home of their own.”

Discerning homebuyers can choose from a range of properties available to reserve at Nelsons Quarter, including two-bedroom houses priced from £130,995, three-bedroom properties priced from £172,995, and four-bedroom homes from £210,995.

The two-bedroom ‘Canford’ terraced house, for example, is priced from £130.995 and features an open-plan living/dining room with French doors opening out to the private rear garden, plus a kitchen and a guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the landing leads to a master bedroom with en-suite shower room, a further bedroom and a main bathroom, while outside there’s allocated parking.

Under Help To Buy, customers receive a Government loan of up to 20%, which is available on new-build properties up to the value of £600,000, and there is no salary cap for homebuyers taking advantage of the scheme.

Swaffham is an attractive, family-friendly Norfolk market town which sits at the very northern point of the Brecks, an area of outstanding tranquility and beauty which stretches across Norfolk and Suffolk.

A varied selection of independent retailers line the High Street alongside established chain stores, providing a relaxing and enjoyable shopping experience. There is a bustling Saturday Market and twice monthly Farmer's Market while Waitrose and Boots are all close by.

There is a good range of schooling within easy reach of home, from playgroups to the well-regarded Hamond's High School. The nearby Swaffham Community Hospital is complemented by a dentist and health centre.

Swaffham has convenient access to the A47 providing an easy drive to King's Lynn while the city of Norwich and its airport are both around 30 miles away.
