House-builder Taylor Wimpey is to work with the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) to help create bee-friendly gardens ahead of the imminent show home launch at Winnington Village in Northwich.

The developer has revealed its show homes, which are currently in production, will adhere to bee-friendly guidelines after liaising with the charity on planting and landscaping.

New residents at the desired village development will also be provided with packs which have been purchased by Taylor Wimpey and are available through the BBKA, for assistance in maintaining a bee-friendly garden.

Anthony Mansfield, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester explains: “This is something we have been passionate about for a long time, and are thrilled to have the help and advice of the BBKA.

“Our ethos was that if we could offer all the relevant information and support for new home-owners at the earliest of stages, it would be easier for them to continue on this path.”

Jane Moseley, Operations Director at the British Beekeepers Association comments: “Taylor Wimpey is such a well respected name in the housing industry and we were delighted when they got in touch to offer support and get some guidance on their show homes.

“With Winnington Village being such a new development, it is the perfect time to educate home-owners on the importance of bees in the environment and the ways in which they can help.”

The show homes at Winnington Village are due to open in early September and will offer a range of financial incentives on the new homes including the government-backed Help to Buy scheme.

Anthony concluded: “The homes are truly stunning and the new landscaping will only compliment this. We’re proud to be using the BBKA logo and can’t wait to show case this great development.”
