When it comes to styling a multi-million pound show home, only the most aspiring interiors to epitomise the grandeur of the new homes through the interior design choices make the cut, especially at Bellway’s distinguished development, The Asters in Sunningdale, Berkshire.

Jamie-Lee Tegg, Interior Designer at Alexander James explains the design concept for White Heath, the show house at The Asters: “We always want to create interiors the purchaser can aspire to; White Heath gave us an exceptional setting to work from, so the interiors needed to reflect this. The entrance hall is the gateway to this exquisite home, so we wanted to emphasise the open space with a polished floor tile running through into the kitchen / family breakfast room. We’ve used a round table in the centre which has an ebonised oak top and a hammered polished nickel base, which is a really elegant piece with beautiful lines. This was dressed with an oversized silk floral arrangement emphasising the space and height and a sumptuous pin stripe patterned rug to draw everything together. A traditional shaped love seat and side table takes advantage of the space underneath the staircase, offering a quiet haven in the centre of the ground floor.

“The kitchen / family room is the perfect location for family living, it’s the heart of the home, and we’ve reflected this with a painted kitchen in grey shaker style with black granite worktops and an oak breakfast area.

“The beautiful landscape outside is not something we could have ignored, so we brought the outside in by adding two bay trees at the far end of the kitchen, by the large concertina doors overlooking the garden. With the family room tucked around the corner, we opted for a comfy style linen sofa and rustic wood furniture finishes elsewhere and used a tall window effect mirror to create the feeling of openness and light.

“We decided the drawing room should remain very traditional and formal, using a number of textures such as dark wood furniture with a fabulous 3D effect front, to contrast with the embroidered velvet. Finishing touches like the chenille thread scatter cushions with a hint of sparkle and ruffles add some depth to the room. However, the vibrant purple velvet sofas make an impact against the otherwise monochrome colour palette.

Jamie-Lee Tegg continues, “Our vision for the master bedroom in White Heath was to create the feeling of a grand boutique hotel as soon as you walked into the room. The winged deep buttoned upholstered headboard in sumptuous crushed velvet really gives the wow factor and the dark wood with chrome detail bedside chests illustrate the size of the room. The bed is dressed using crisp white linen with added silver tonal textures to the throw and scatter cushions; it really is pure luxury.”
