According to a new study by communications regulator Ofcom, thanks to the rise of connected devices such as smartphones and tablets, UK families are now more likely to watch TV together than they have been in over a decade. As the room with the largest TV in the house, this trend is leading to the rise in the use of the living room, with families brought together just as they were in the 1950’s when a TV was likely to be a home’s only screen.

The properties at Langroyd Mews in Wandsworth from Bellway Homes are perfect for modern family life, as they feature extensive living rooms that are ideal for families who enjoy watching TV together whilst interacting on tablets and smartphones.

According to the report, 91% of adults watched their main TV set once a week – up from 88% in 2002 – but their attention may be distracted. Over half of the 3,700 over 16’s interviewed found most family members now multi-task while sitting in front of the TV by talking on the phone, texting friends, using social networks or even watching different content altogether on YouTube or other streaming sites.

The 1,508.00 sq ft homes at Langroyd Mews have been designed in the style of the classic Edwardian London terrace, blending seamlessly and sympathetically into the local suburban environment, and yet offering all the benefits of a fine new build home. The brand new homes, priced from £859,995 have a flexible layout to suit the whole family.

On the ground floor, this period styled home follows an untraditional layout. To the front of the ground floor is the large kitchen / dining room, a downstairs cloakroom and a spacious living room with double doors leading out into the garden. The lounge is the hub of the home, allowing the family to enjoy time together, much like the idyllic fifties portrait with a modern twist.

On the first floor, the master bedroom towards the front of the property features a bay window, which is much in demand for its elegance. Also included are fitted wardrobes and an en-suite. A further two double bedrooms have access to the family bathroom. On the second floor, is an enviable fourth bedroom with a reading area and en-suite. There is also access to the eaves storage, perfect for keeping all the family games and activities safe and secure.
