Help to Buy your first home in Liverpool

Low interest rates and affordable mortgages are boosting demand for new homes and the number of first time buyers across the UK has hit its highest since 2007, according to high street lenders.

With more people now entering the housing market, Redrow is holding a special event for Liverpool’s first time buyers at The Avenue at Summerhill Park this Saturday (September 21).

Friendly, experienced sales consultants and mortgage specialists will guide customers through the process of buying a home and, in particular, explain how Help to Buy can make homeownership easier to afford with the aid of a 20% equity loan.

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “This is a chance for people who’ve never owned a home before to become part of the success story at Summerhill Park. Two thirds of the homes in the first phase are now sold and we are continuing to sell an average of one new home per week.

“News that mortgages are at their most affordable for 14 years and that lending is at a five year high has almost certainly bolstered consumer confidence. This Saturday we’re inviting would-be homeowners to talk to us about purchasing a new home with Help to Buy. They should only need a relatively small deposit of around 5% and will be able to reduce the initial cost of the home they buy by 20%.”

Situated off Thingwall Lane, part of the appeal of The Avenue at Summerhill Park is that the homes are in an established residential area, within easy reach of Broadgreen train station and the end of the M62 and with good local amenities close at hand. The design and specification of the homes is also a major draw.

“People love how much is included in our specification and especially the quality of our kitchens and bathrooms. For people who are setting up home for the very first time simply having brand new kitchen appliances included and all covered by a manufacturer’s two year warranty can be very important,” Claire adds.

Current availability at The Avenue includes three and four-bedroom homes from the sought-after Heritage Collection.

Prices start from £147,995 for a three-bedroom Evesham style property with en-suite to master bedroom and ground floor cloakroom. It can be snapped up for only £118,396 with Help to Buy. The lower price includes a customer deposit of £7,399 and a mortgage of £110,996. The balance is covered by the equity loan, which is interest free for five years.

In no way limited to first time buyers, Help to Buy is available on all of the homes currently being marketed at The Avenue, right up to the four-bedroom detached Oxford family home at £259,995.

And those who want a smaller property will be able to register their interest in apartments that will soon be released for sale.

The first time buyer event at The Avenue at Summerhill Park takes place from 11am to 4pm this Saturday (September 21). For more information about the homes and the help available, see redrow.co.uk/summerhill.
